Services in Maritime and Transport
We undertake Technical Due Diligence studies on behalf of investors, in order to provide assurance that proposed investments are sound.
We carry out strategic studies on behalf of central government and her agencies, including the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency. Associated projects are typically directed towards one of the following:
- Identifying the most appropriate ways forward in respect of regulating to minimise navigational and other maritime safety and environmental risks, including considering the effect of likely future trends;
- Independent assessment and the provision of advice on how best to reduce and manage the risks of accidents and to be appropriately equipped to respond to emergencies;
- Developing new risk based approaches to assist in the assessment of fleet adequacy in respect of emergency response, and in particular the planning and procurement of assets for effective Search and Rescue (SAR) operations.
We undertake work for port authorities, including navigational risk assessment, safety and environmental auditing and vessel traffic modelling that assists ports in maximising river capacity and throughput, whilst demonstrably satisfying the requirements of the Port Marine Safety Code.

Our risk assessment and traffic modelling capability also has utility in port planning and redevelopment, also in port operations e.g. in identifying cost effective dredging regimes.
We undertake work for operators, ranging from specialist studies in areas such as stability assessment, fire safety assessment and logistics support to the development of Safety Management and Environmental Management Systems for land, sea and air transport.
In each of the above cases, our services aim to maximise capability and throughput, whilst minimising cost and technical risk and controlling liability, whether the required level of capability is increasing or decreasing.
See our Case Studies for details of example past projects.
